Shooting regulations and information for the 3D-shooting facility

The Archery Section is obliged to keep certain regulations defined in the contract for the 3D-facilities. Therefore, the regulations described below have to be followed by all members under all circumstances, as we otherwise violate the contract. As a result we may loose the grounds.

Members acting contrary to the regulations have to expect the exclusion from the Archery Section of the ASLC e.V.

Introduction

¨ Each member of the section will be introduced the local details by a member of the section board. Interested members should contact a board member to agree on an appointment. The personal introduction includes information upon the location and sizes of the leased area, driveways and where to park, and also the arrangement of the 3D-facility itself. Use of the grounds is prerequisite to the introduction.

Ground

¨ The shooting range is located in the 'triangle' Bockhorn-Hecken-Unterstrogn. The area is not fenced in, so that the borders are not obvious. Signs, prohibiting the entrance and fishing, are put.

Driveways

¨ Exclusively using the way starting from road connecting Bockhorn and Hecken permits the access to the area.

¨ In dry weather conditions the access way has to be expected to give off dust. In order to avoid unnecessary pollution the speed has to be reduced to a sensible limit (< 20 km/h).

¨ Continual rainfall will make the access more difficult or even impassable.

¨ The direct access way is not part of the lease. As a consequence this way have to be kept free under all circumstances, in order to guarantee the respective owners unrestricted use.

¨ The landlords (Farmers Pichlmeier and Maier) have access rights to the lease at any time (e.g. to bring or get gravel). In case the space left is insufficient we have to free enough room to allow them access.

Parking

¨ Parking is permitted on the leased ground exclusively (as per introduction). The driveway must be kept free of vehicles at all times.

¨ Parking on other places is prohibited. Parking on the neighbor's plot can cause the loss of the ground. Therefore, violations of this rule will have serious implications (caution, exclusion).

Purpose of the 3D-ground

¨ The 3D-ground is designated to allow the traditional members of the Archery Section of the ASLC e.V., to perform shooting practice, meeting the prerequisites of the Shooting Regulations.

¨ The ground is assigned to be used for official section celebrations and for member gatherings also.

¨ No private parties are permitted.

Admission to the 3D-ground

Section members

¨ The traditional archers of the Archery Section are entitled to use the 3D-ground for shooting and to be present, in line with the preceding and following paragraphs, particularly the shooting regulation.

Other people

¨ The landlords (Farmers Pichlmeier and Maier) are entitled to access at any time. The son of Farmer Maier is authorised to fish at the pond, but only alone.

¨ Friends of section members as well as archers from other clubs can be brought to the ground with the approval of a section board member only.

¨ Strangers, in particular walkers, fishermen, children and persons with dogs, are to be asked for their name. If they are not entitled to enter the ground they have to be made aware that they have strayed upon private ground and that they should refrain from repeated entry. They should also be made aware that they have entered an area where silent shooting is practiced, which may be of danger to themselves (and their animal, if applicable).

Shooting Regulation

¨ Shooting at animals is strictly prohibited. Violations of this rule could cause the exclusion from the Archery Section.

¨ Shooting without supervision is strictly forbidden. The supervisor's name has to be written down.

¨ Juvenile members under the age of 18 years are forbidden to shoot without the supervision of an adult section member.

¨ Security is a prerequisite for shooting. Due to the hilly area it is difficult to overlook the facility. In case of any doubts that the safety space behind a target is free, it has to be refrained from shooting until it is sure that the security is given.

¨ Shooting on the facility is allowed in ascending order of the target numbers only, as the catching installations are placed depending on the respective direction. It has to be made use of the paths laid out.

¨ In case of the presence of several archers wanting to practice one or multiple groups have to be built, each having it's own supervisor. Should several groups using the facility there must be gaps of at least one target between the groups.

¨ The straw-wall at the facility entry can be used at any time, regardless if other archers are shooting the facility.

Animals

¨ It is forbidden to bring animals (e.g. dogs) to the shooting range.

Material

¨ Arrows made of wood or of aluminium are allowed to be used exclusively. The use of arrows made of carbon, is strictly prohibited.

¨ By no means defective arrows and arrows with hunting tips (broadheads) are to be used.

¨ Shooting on special targets such as 'Frisbees', etc. provides the use of Flu-Flu arrows with blunt tips. The fletching has to consist of at least five turkey feathers (each of five inches of length at least).

¨ Damages, in particular to the targets, etc. are immediately to be reported to the Sports Administrator.

Duty of Care and Cleanness

¨ The disposal of any kind of waste (e.g. damaged arrows, etc.) is the responsibility of the archers. Waste has to be taken away from the 3D-ground as no dustbins are provided. Therefore it is recommended to have your own rubbish bag with you. By no means rubbish is to remain at the 3D-ground or to be thrown into the pond.

¨ Storage of any kind of objects, not even on short-term, is allowed.

¨ In order to ensure the protection of the environment the laid out paths are to be used. The only exception may be to look for lost arrows if required.

¨ Be aware that many creatures (e.g. lizards, frogs, etc.) are living at the 3D-ground. By no means should they be disturbed on purpose (this also includes catching them).
